About Us:
EIBEA is made up of business teachers from the Eastern region of the State of Illinois. We are an affiliate of the Illinois Business Education Association. Our purpose is to promote business education and to share instructional resources and teaching techniques with other business educators.

Spring 2026 Meeting
- Thursday, March 5, 2026 at Rural King Corporate Headquarters Mattoon, IllinoisOur schedule for the evening will be:
4:30 Meet and Greet at Rural King Corporate Headquarters/Distribution (4216 Dewitt Avenue on the West Side of Mattoon, NOT the Rural King by the Mall)
4:45-5:45 Program Tour and presentation at Rural King - Presenter: Drew Weckbach, Director of Strategic Initiatives at Rural King. *Attendees will receive one hour of PD credit for the tour/presentation through IBEA. -Program Description: Rural King, was founded in Mattoon, IL in 1960. Tour Rural King’s nearly 300,000 square foot warehouse to see the massive inventory to supply all 130 stores in the thirteen-state area. Learn about the company's launch of new ventures and how they have continued to be successful in today’s changing business world.
5:45 Dinner Buffet at Villa Pizza https://www.facebook.com/MattoonVillaPizza Buffett dinner will include meal, drink, and dessert. (They have all kinds of food on the buffet, not just pizza)
6:15 EIBEA Short Business Meeting – Including: 2025-26 Teacher of the Year Award Winner.
Please share this information with other business teachers that you know and encourage them to attend. Attending the EIBEA meeting is a great way to discuss current trends in the business classrooms with fellow business teachers and earn PD credits. Check with your school administrators about receiving funding to attend the EIBEA spring meet

Congratulations to our local EIBEA member, Cindy Phipps from Lake Land College, on winning the Outstanding Post-Secondary Educator of the Year Award at the Fall 2024 IBEA Conference.

The Eastern Illinois Business Education Association Fall 2026 Meeting will be held November 5, 2026 at the IBEA Fall Conference in Springfield, IL.
