About EIBEA

Purpose of EIBEA:

As an affiliate of the Illinois Business Education Association, EIBEA represents business education professionals and students from schools and community colleges in the Eastern 12 counties in Illinois and Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. The purposes of EIBEA are to:

Plan, develop, and sustain programs for professionals and students in business education through meetings, discussions, and conferences.
Promote teaching careers in business education.
Promote the interests of vocational education at all educational levels and cooperate with other agencies.

How to Join EIBEA:

Anyone active in business education is eligible for membership in EIBEA. Contact any of the EIBEA officers for more information.

As an active member of EIBEA you can:

Become a proactive member of the business education community
Exchange ideas among business education teachers and prospective teachers
Attend spring and fall meetings organized by EIBEA's board to network with others and pick up new teaching techniques
Attend state IBEA and IACTE conferences and the National NBEA conference
Provide input to EIBEA's representative to the IBEA board
Become eligible for EIBEA and IBEA award programs
Contribute to scholarships for outstanding high school and community college students interested in business education
Promote student organizations for business education

EIBEA Structure:

EIBEA Counties Include: Clark, Coles, Crawford, Cumberland, Douglas, Edgar, Effingham, Jasper, Lawrence(shared), Moultrie, Richland(shared), Shelby.

EIBEA is one of ten affiliates of the Illinois Business Education Association. Those affiliates are:

Chicago Business Ed. Association (CBEA)
Eastern Illinois Business Ed. Association (EIBEA)
Mid-Illinois Business Ed. Association (MIBEA)

Southwestern Area Business Ed. Association (SWABEA)

IBEA is an affiliate of the Illinois Association for Career and Technical Education (IACTE), which represents vocational and technical career programs in the State of Illinois.

IBEA is also an affiliate of the National Business Education Association (NBEA), which represents business educators from all over the United States.
