EIBEA Spring 2010 Meeting Info:

• The Spring 2010 meeting of EIBEA was Wednesday, March 24, 2010 from 6:15-8:00 p.m.
  at Ryan’s Family Steakhouse 1102 Avenue of Mid America Effingham, IL 62401
  
  
  Pre-Meeting Activities
  
  The spring meeting of EIBEA was held at Ryan’s Steakhouse, Effingham, Illinois, on Wednesday, March 24, 2009. The membership enjoyed a presentation on Employment Trends from Dennis Hoffman, Labor Market Economist with the Illinois Department of Employment Security.
  After the presentation, discussion was held to base presentation towards business education and CPDU’s were distributed.
  
  Business Meeting
  
  At 7:45 pm President Drage called the meeting to order. Shasta Bennett stated that the fall minutes were emailed out, posted on website and handed out to members and asked for any additions or corrections. Amie Mayhall made a motion to accept the fall minutes; Sheryl Bummer seconded; motion carried.
  
  Sarah Newby, treasurer, reported an opening balance of $1,051.38, and a closing balance of $1,213.38. Amie Mayhall moved to approve the treasurer’s report. Mike Woods seconded the motion; motion carried.
  

Discussion began on what we can possibly do to improve the business education situation. Suggestions were: Rally Getting schools to require a business class Start with the Senators and inform them that business education is necessary
o Get students to write letters
o Have everyone write letters

Election of New Officers—Congratulations to: Michael Woods, new EIBEA President
