Cathy Carruthers was the recipient of the Association for Career and Technical Education’s Region III Award of Merit, which was presented on November 28, 2012, during the Region III meeting at ACTE’s Career Tech Vision Convention held in Atlanta, Georgia.

This award is given to recognize contributors for the highest meritorious improvement, promotion, development, and progress of career and technical education; and Cathy is being recognized for her many contributions to career and technical education locally, statewide, and nationally.

Cathy is very involved in the legislative arena currently serving as a representative to the National Business Education Association’s Legislative Committee and is a consistent attendee of the ACTE National Policy Seminar. She has served as president or sat on the board of directors of many CTE organizations. She currently serves as the North Central Business Education Association’s regional director of the NBEA Board. Cathy is also Membership Coordinator for IBEA.
