The IBEA is pleased to recognize Mrs. Shirley Hertz with a 2014 IBEA Professional Recognition Award. Shirley is a business education/career and technical education teacher at Galva Jr./Sr. High School, where she also serves as lead teacher and mentor for new teachers.
Mrs. Hertz is currently serving on the IBEA board of directors as the Special Projects (Silent Auction) Chair and is in her second term as the WIABEA representative. She is a past WIABEA president. Mrs. Hertz is a member of the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development; a past member of the Blackhawk Business Advisory Committee where she served as president, vice president, and chairperson; and former Galva High School CTE Director, as well as Co-Director for Vocational Education & Tech Prep (PCCS).
A current IBEA member shared in her recommendation letter that Shirley is, “…a dedicated, passionate, enthusiastic, professional in the field of business education.”
A former co-worker remarked about Shirley’s work ethic, “For Shirley a job is not done until it has been completed and completed correctly.”
