The John Robert Gregg Award is presented each year to an individual who has been widely recognized by colleagues and education professionals as having made outstanding contributions to the advancement of business education. The award is named in honor of business educator, researcher, and publisher, John Robert Gregg.

This year NBEA recognized the accomplishments of Dr. Beryl C. McEwen, who is currently the Dean of the School of Business and Economics and Professor of Business Education at North Carolina A&T State University. She has served for 38 years as a business educator, with graduates who are professors, teachers, attorneys, business executives, entrepreneurs, and one school superintendent.

Dr. McEwen received her Master of Science and Ph.D. degrees in business education at Southern Illinois University, under the direction of Dr. Marcia Anderson, and taught at Eastern Illinois University.
