Help Guide the Future of IBEA

IBEA is at a crossroads.  Over the past five years we have seen a decrease in membership, decrease in conference attendees, decrease in conference participants (presenters, session chairs), and an increase in free resources offered by other associations and vendors.  It has also become increasingly difficult to find leaders, as many on the IBEA Board of Directors have stepped down or will be stepping down.  There are other issues business educators are facing including new legislation, teacher certification, vendor support, and a decrease in business education majors.  On top of all this, other organizations receive state and federal funds that IBEA does not.

THIS IS WHERE AND WHY WE NEED YOU!  IBEA is forming an ad hoc committee to help guide the future of IBEA.  We are looking for the following types of individuals to serve on this committee:

  • Current students
  • Teachers with less than five years of teaching experience
  • Teachers with five to ten years of teaching experience
  • Teachers with ten plus years of teaching experience
  • Past IBEA Presidents (actively teaching or retired)
  • Retired teachers

Meetings will be held virtually.  The first meeting will likely take place during the first week of October.  If you are interested in serving on this important committee or if you have any questions, please contact IBEA President, Josh Ebbert, at This email address is being protected from spambots. THE FUTURE OF IBEA DEPENDS ON YOU!
